Jeff Jenson, Founder & CEO
Jeff Jenson is the founder and CEO of Utopian Luxury Vacation Homes. A seasoned entrepreneur, Jeff has spearheaded multiple successful businesses and has acted as a financial consultant to emerging and public corporations for over 25 years. Jeff is a Westminster College graduate with degrees in aviation and business management. He is an avid sportsman who enjoys hunting, biking, skiing, golfing, and surfing, and was a competitive swimmer. Working towards global expansion for Utopian Luxury Vacation Homes, Jeff is living in Park City, UT, with his family.
Dan Drummond, President & COO
Dan Drummond is the President and COO of Utopian Luxury Vacation Homes. Dan is responsible for overseeing marketing, communications, infrastructure, and day-to-day operations and for the promulgation of strategies, policies, plans, and procedures in furtherance of the board of directors’ and chief executive’s decisions and intent. In his free time, Dan enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis.
Herbert Spiegel, VP of Operations, Southern CA
Herbert has spent his life and career in 5 Star Hotel and Resort properties throughout the world. He made his home in Rancho Mirage in 2001 when he took over The Ritz Carlton as Senior Vice President of Rock Resort and then transitioned it back to a Ritz Carlton. During his time with Rock Resort, he oversaw the entire collection in the United States and the Caribbean. Herbert is dedicated to assuring that the Utopian experience remains unparalleled. Whether it be inviting new properties into the collection or assuring the best of experiences for guests and our owners alike, Herbert will head that effort.
Jeff Gauvin, Director of Sales
Jeff Gauvin is the Director of Sales at Utopian Luxury Vacation Homes, whose focus is on driving revenues for our VIP owners and ensuring that we deliver a travel experience beyond the expectation of our guests. For the past 20 years, Jeff Gauvin has immersed himself in the hospitality and travel sector while working on cruise ships, owning and operating a successful Bed & Breakfast and selling travel in the vacation rental market. To know the travel industry, you must do travel yourself; Jeff is well-traveled, having visited over 40 countries and 40 states, and lived abroad as well.
Michael Thomas, Business & Market Development
Michael Thomas heads up the Market and Business Development for North America and the Caribbean. A hospitality veteran with over 30 years of experience in the industry, his experience is vast and varied. He is a trained and published 19th & 20th Century American Fine Art dealer and historian. In addition, he has over 15 years of experience in the boutique, luxury retail sector. Michael understands and represents the overall essence of Utopian, from a business and market development stance, to guest services, owner services and an operational point of view.
Jill Thorwegen, Director of Guest Services
Jill Thorwegen is the Director of Guest Services at Utopian Luxury Vacation Homes, who focuses on delivering a world class experience for all stakeholders. Jill has 15 years experience in the vacation rental industry, working many aspects of the business including sales, accounting, and marketing, but specializing in hospitality. Living just outside Park City, Jill and her family enjoy skiing, snowboarding, boating, hiking, and travel. When you book your trip, Jill and her team of concierges will strive to make your stay an unforgettable experience!
Kristin Everson, Director of Marketing
Kristin Everson is the Director of Marketing at Utopian Luxury Vacation Homes. She is a passionate and experienced marketing manager with working knowledge in account management, cooperative marketing, web content creation and product management. With 13 years of experience in the vacation rental sector, Kristin brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to an ever growing team that focuses on both traditional and new media.
Sam Lincoln, Accounting Manager
Sam is the Accounting Manager at Utopian Luxury Vacation Homes. Sam has experience in overseeing strategic planning, financial initiatives, and accounting aspects of business operations. He is proficient at developing strategic relationships, cost analysis, and process improvements to data/reporting systems. In his free time, Sam enjoys writing poetry and painting through a variety of mediums.
Board of Advisors
Mark van Hartesvelt
Mark van Hartesvelt is a Hospitality Professional with expertise in hotels, resorts, food and beverage, gaming and travel. For the past 16 years, Mr. Hartesvelt has acted as the Founding Principal of gCommerce Solutions, a full-service digital marketing agency specializing in the hotel, resort and gaming industries. Mr. Hartesvelt brings a substantial track record in marketing, market research, development, asset management and operating turnarounds having successfully held high-level positions with Harrah’s Entertainment, DoubleTree Hotels, and Gemstone Resorts.
Swen Arthur Mortenson graduated from Stevens Henagar College in June, 1969 and became a Certified Public Accountant with the State of Utah in July 1971. He has extensive real estate investment experience throughout the United State. He has served as President of Phone Directories Company, Inc. during June 1990 thru August 1996. During that time he grew the company from $5,000,000 to $25,000,000 in sales. He currently serves as a Director of Utopian LVH, Inc, which does luxury home rentals all over the World.
